Day 1

FLIGHT TO SAN FRANCISCO • DINNER:

Get ready for a Coastal adventure of a lifetime! We board our plane in Charlotte for a cross-country flight to San Francisco where we begin our explorations of 500 plus miles of gorgeous coastline all the way south to San Diego. We overnight in San Francisco area for two nights. We’ll enjoy an included dinner tonight. (D)
Day 2

TOUR OF SAN FRANCISCO • GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE • CABLE CAR RIDE • ALCATRAZ • FISHERMAN’S WHARF:

We begin the day with a guided tour of Golden Gate City including many sights! Snap some photos of the most photographed bridge in the country. Enjoy a ride on a cable car up and down those amazing hills. Explore the halls of Alcatraz and hear some of the fascinating stories of those that lived and tried to leave this infamous island. Try some delicious seafood or local fare at Fisherman’s Wharf before we make our way back to the hotel for the night.
Day 3

ROARING CAMP RAILROAD • REDWOODS • CHUCK-WAGON LUNCH • 17 MILE DRIVE • OLD MONTEREY:

Today we explore the ancient coastal redwoods aboard the Roaring Camp & Big Trees Narrow Gauge Railroad. Starting at the depot in Felton, the train travels over trestles, through towering redwood groves and up a winding narrow-gauge grade to the summit of Bear Mountain as conductors narrate the history of Roaring Camp, the railroad, and the forest. Sit down to a Chuckwagon lunch before our motorcoach follows the 17-Mile Drive’s red-dotted line to arrive at an enchanting world full of dramatic coastal cliffs, snow-white beaches, mystical forests, and iconic golf courses. Discover one of the most scenic drives in the world. After our beautiful drive we enjoy some time in Old Monterey. (L)
Day 4

SAN JOAQUIN VALLEY • SIERRA NEVADA MOUNTAINS • YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK • TRAM TOUR • OAKHURST:

Traveling further south, we move through the San Joaquin Valley, praised as a breadbasket and the backbone of California’s agricultural industry. Located in the center of California, the Valley is bracketed on both sides by mountain ranges. Traveling through the eastern part of the Valley, we cross into the Sierra Nevada Mountains, arriving in Yosemite National Park. Our valleyfloor tour shows us all the highlights of Yosemite as we ride on an open-air tram through the park. Led by park rangers, we can expect to see Yosemite Falls, Half Dome, El Capitan, Tunnel View, Bridalveil Falls and more on this scenic tour. After our tour we get back on our motorcoach for a short ride to Oakhurst where we overnight.
Day 5

FORESTIERE UNDERGROUND GARDENS • SOLVANG • DINNER:

Using only shovels, picks, and other hand tools, a hardworking, and very determined, man from Sicily spent over 40 years of his life excavating and building a subterranean garden home. Step into a world of beauty on our walking tour of Forestiere as we navigate the underground passageways through rooms and courtyards, gardens, and creations. Traveling toward the coast, we stop in Solvang, a sun-soaked slice of Danish culture, where California wine cellars mix with European bakeries and shops. We have an included dinner then check into our hotel. (D)
Day 6

RONALD REAGAN LIBRARY & MUSEUM • WARNER BROS. STUDIO TOUR:

Eat a good breakfast because we have another busy and fun-filled day planned. Perched on a mountaintop with sweeping views of the surrounding mountains, valleys and the Pacific Ocean, the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library is one of California’s most beautiful and unique destinations. The museum features an immersive experience allowing us to interact with hundreds of never-before-seen artifacts and engage with interactive displays in 18 galleries highlighting the life and times of America’s 40th president. Our tour of Warner Brothers Studios brings us closer than ever to the entertainment we love. Explore one of the busiest working studios in Los Angeles with our guide, who takes us behind the scenes of the studio that has been entertaining the world for nearly 100 years. We check into our Los Angeles area hotel.
Day 7

GUIDED TOUR OF LOS ANGELES • ORIGINAL FARMER’S MARKET • PACIFIC COASTLINE DRIVE TO SAN DIEGO • LA JOLLA SEA LIONS • OLD TOWN SAN DIEGO:

This morning we enjoy a guided tour of Los Angeles covering Hollywood to Beverly Hills including TCL Chinese Theater, the renowned Walk of Stars & the famous intersection of Hollywood and Vine. Next we make a stop at a favorite destination among locals and tourists, the Original Farmer’s Market. This sprawling historic market offers over 100 gourmet grocers, restaurants serving up everything from bbq sandwiches to sushi, fried chicken to French toast. We make the beautiful Pacific coastline drive to San Diego. Joining Highway 5 just south of Laguna Beach, our drive takes us past San Clemente, Vista Point, Del Mar Beach, Camp Pendleton, and several of California’s popular surf spots. Stopping at Seal Rock, we hope to grab a glimpse, and some photos, of La Jolla’s sea lions before we stop in Old Town San Diego for dinner on our own.
Day 8

GUIDED TOUR OF SAN DIEGO • USS MIDWAY • SEAPORT VILLAGE • HARBOR CRUISE • DINNER:

This morning we are joined by a local guide for a tour of San Diego. Known for its stunning beaches, amazing parks and gorgeous weather, downtown San Diego sits on the San Diego Bay and includes Little Italy, the Embarcadero, and the Gaslamp Quarter driving around beautiful Balboa Park. We have time for photo stops at Navy Pier and the USS Midway. We stop by Seaport Village, a waterfront dining and shopping complex, for free time and lunch on our own. Then we set sail on a harbor cruise in San Diego Bay. Cruise alongside playful sea lions, Navy ships, scenic skyline architecture, past historic landmarks and under the Coronado Bridge. Enjoy this relaxing cruise aboard a luxury ship with three levels of comfortable indoor and outdoor seating and 360-degree views, bringing a unique perspective of San Diego that we can only get from the water. Our dinner is included tonight before we return to our hotel. (D)
Day 9

HOME:

This morning we board for our flight home with memories of the spectacular California coast in our minds and wondering where we will go next!
